The Quarrels of Chioggia is a brilliant comedy of one of the greatest comedy writer of universal theatre: Carlo Goldoni. It is the cheerful and colorful story of the citizen of a small fishermen city near Venice.

What happened to the actors after their scandalous performance at Elsinore? I always ask myself that when quoting Hamlet. It is odd that Shakespeare, a writer rigorous with his characters, abandons suddenly this topic, leaving the audience imagining his own finale to this story, obviously having more important problems during the performance of the play about the sad prince of Denmark.

Titanic Waltz, the play of one of Romania’s most spiritual dramatists, Tudor Muşatescu, did not lose its freshness even if it was born 84 years ago. The secret to longevity is revealed by the author himself: ’the action takes place now-a-days, in any city there is a mother-in-law, wives and prefects’’.
A shipwreck, an unexpected inheritance, a surprise candidate for parliament, a mysterious will, political’ ’pyramidal” speeches, sentimental trouble, theatre coups and turnarounds, all in a show revealing the brilliant humor of the author and beautiful actor creations.

Imperial, in red silk robe, the fortress’s master (Dan Cojocaru) speaks to his barbarian lover about the wedding. When she doesn’t understand him, he snaps his whip. If he doesn’t understand what she’s whistling in her language, he calls in for translation another barbarian, an oversized executioner. This is the beginning of Midsummer Night’s Dream play, by Shakespeare, directing Marcel Ţop, at the Public Theatre of Constanţa.
